Silicon carbide membranes are a high-end upgrade of inorganic ceramic membranes. With silicon carbide as the core sintering material, they inherit the harsh-environment resistance of ceramic membranes while significantly outperforming traditional alumina/zirconia membranes in high-temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, mechanical strength, and flux. As the most thermally stable, corrosion-resistant, and fouling-resistant inorganic membrane available, they are engineered for separation and filtration in extreme industrial conditions. Their primary form is multi-channel tubular, supported by dedicated complete equipment systems.
Exceptional Mechanical Strength: Compressive strength > 300 MPa, flexural strength > 50 MPa, with superior wear and impact resistance, making them ideal for cross-flow filtration of high-solid-content slurries.
Superior Flux: SiC membranes feature high porosity (40%–60%) and tunable surface hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity. Their pure water flux is 2–5 times higher than alumina membranes, with slower flux decline under operating conditions.
Excellent Fouling Resistance: The smooth membrane surface minimizes adsorption of colloids, proteins, and scale. Cleaning recovery rate > 95%, enabling longer cleaning cycles.
Unmatched Chemical Stability: Resistant to strong acids (concentrated nitric acid, sulfuric acid), strong bases (concentrated NaOH/KOH), strong oxidizers, and organic solvents, making them suitable for extreme conditions where organic or traditional ceramic membranes cannot operate.
